TIMMINS, ON: Hundreds of high school students and members of the public from across northeastern Ontario will visit Northern College’s Timmins Campus on Thursday, October 15, 2015 to attend the college’s annual Open House.
Northern’s Open House will be held in conjunction with the College Information Program tour. The Open House provides an environment where prospective college students can meet with faculty, learn about programs and services, and experience a slice of college life. In addition to Northern College information booths and campus tours, representatives from 21 Ontario colleges will be on-site in the campus gymnasium from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
All members of the public with an interest in learning more about the programs and services available at Northern and colleges across Ontario are invited to attend.
“Our annual Open House is an excellent event for anyone considering a post-secondary education,” says Fred Gibbons, President of Northern College. “The information that we provide, as well as that provided by our peer colleges in attendance, will be invaluable to attendees as they make informed choices for their future. While this is our one of our larger annual Open House events, we are always available to members of the public who wish to explore college programs and vocational choices at any of our four campus locations.”
As part of the Open House, Northern College will be awarding six bursaries valued at $500 each to prospective students in attendance. Additional prizes will be available to high school students.
The College Information Program is an annual province-wide tour providing prospective post-secondary students with direct access to representatives from Ontario’s colleges.
