Of Special Interest:

A new Law Clerk diploma program started in 2007 at the Haileybury Campus.

The School of Health Sciences boasts a state-of-the-art simulation lab.

Northern’s School of Welding Engineering Technology has received national and international recognition.

Northern College is one of only two colleges in Ontario to have a live fire training centre on campus as part of its Pre-Service Firefighter Program.

The Northern College Aboriginal Council on Education acts as a voice on behalf of the Aboriginal Community and assumes a leadership role in Northern College.

Northern College has formed a partnership with the James Bay Employment and Training Board and the First Nation communities to provide training opportunities associated with the Victor Diamond Mine in Attawapiskat.

During 2006-07 in more than of 300 students participated in apprenticeship programs.

Northern College has Native Student Advising Services available at each of its four campuses (Haileybury, Kirkland Lake, Moosonee, and Porcupine).

Northern College assists 17 First Nations with their education and training needs.
