KIRKLAND LAKE, ON: The auditorium at Northern College’s Kirkland Lake Campus is on its way to being restored, thanks to a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Kirkland Lake.
On Tuesday, July 9, 2013, the club unanimously approved the sponsorship of 12 seats, contributing $3,000 to the Northern College Kirkland Lake Campus Auditorium Renewal Campaign.
“The Rotary Club of Kirkland Lake has certainly helped this campaign gain momentum,” said Douglas Clark, Manager of the Northern College Foundation. “The auditorium has been a mainstay for community events for over 40 years and with this renewal project, we will play host to these events for many years to come. Revamping the auditorium may also assist in attracting larger acts to Kirkland Lake.”
Famed for its acoustics and welcoming atmosphere, the Northern College auditorium has always been a popular Kirkland Lake community resource. The 500 seat venue is a key hub for many concerts and community events during homecoming, winter carnival and much more.
The Foundations Committee is seeking support to replace the seating in the auditorium with the aim of having the renewal complete for the 2014 Winter Carnival. For $250.00 per seat, sponsorship will help revitalize the Kirkland Lake auditorium. By sponsoring a seat, supporters will be acknowledged through prominent donor recognition. Donors will receive a charitable donation tax deduction receipt from the Northern College Foundation.
This initiative is led by the Northern College Foundations Committee in conjunction with community partners including the Kirkland Lake Festivals Committee, Kirkland Lake Arts Council, Interlink, JSANO, and the Town of Kirkland Lake.
