Employment Career Readiness Program

Program Overview
The first step in moving toward self fulfillment and self sufficiency is to understand ones self. The Employment /Career Readiness Program will help participants to focus, explore and identify life learning and strengths within themselves. Students will focus and analyze life learning, identify personal strengths, create a plan to achieve career and personal goals and explore the use of portfolios in various contexts, further education, training or entering the workforce. Participants during the program also participate in completing the literacy and academic upgrading assessment tests. These results help the participant to recognize the academic goals they need to set for themselves.

Career Planning
This 5 day career planning workshop will incorporate the Guiding Circles workbooks. Participants will gain a better understanding of important information about themselves that they need to know in order to determine their career direction. The workshop will also incorporate the National Occupation Classification activities.

The Gift of Self Esteem
This 5 day workshop is a learning system that will help participants make the decision to succeed and will show them how to achieve whatever kind of success they define. Learn the seven ingredients of success and how they are applied with a system for handling and managing life. Apply it systematically and consistently and participants will experience immensely positive changes in their life.

Portfolio Development Professional or Self Assessment

This 2 week self assessment training will help participants to focus, explore and identify life learning and strengths within themselves. In the first part, students will explore experiences related to family, community, land, work, and education/training with an emphasis on valuing Cree communities, history, and traditions. In the second part, students will focus and analyze life learning, identify personal strengths, create a plan to achieve personal goals and explore the use of portfolios in various contexts, further education, training or entering the workforce.
