June 28, 2010 - ENROLMENT INCREASES FORECAST FOR NORTHERN COLLEGE

TIMMINS – “Following a 47% increase in enrolment for first year students in September 2009, Northern College is poised to surpass last year’s enrolment” says Northern College President, Fred Gibbons.

Student applications to Northern College have shown substantial increases over last year and student confirmations have also exceeded last year’s record levels.

“If early indications hold, Northern College will see a level of enrolment not enjoyed since it ceased being a bilingual college in 1995,” adds President Gibbons.

New facilities, new programs and an expansion of its video conferencing capacity means that Northern College is not only serving more students at its four campus locations; it also serves more students in their home communities who might not otherwise be able to access a college education.
