Testimonials
I have always thought that being in school was something that we all had to do, and I did graduate with my Grade 12. Even though it was rough going through school, I had lost my dad during high school, and I had lost my mother shortly after, and then my sister and brother after that. With that said, since I had started college last year, I feel like I am in control of my life right now, and I am proud to be doing this type of career to better my life. I have had many problems entering college as a First Generation Learner, as I did not have my parents to help back me up and give me directions. But I know that they are very proud of me right now, just as I am of myself. But, I am proud to have 3 beautiful grown up girls who are very proud of their mom, and what I have successfully completed on my own. Thanks to the many workshops and personal help that I have received during my learning experiences, I believe that I can complete this course. I am not doing this for the Tim Card, but rather to let you, the First Year Experience Advisor know how thankful I am to you and the rest of the staff there at the college.
Thanks to all of the team. - Sally Tiberi
One day a friend brought me to First Year Experience, an event that continues to shape my learning experience. There, I discovered an oasis; a reprieve from the outside world, where kind, compassionate caring people took the time to listen and assist in whatever way they can. Staff helped me complete OSAP forms and apply for bursaries. On occasion, they've helped me with math. So come to First Year Experience and witness genuine benevolence in action.
