Q: Tell us your story! What led to you applying to Northern, and accepting an offer?

When I was in high school, I had trouble determining what I would like to study in college, until my brother began Northern’s Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technician program. I became very interested in the subject and thought it would be a great path to take. I was very thrilled when I was accepted to the program.

Q: Did your Board of Governors Entrance Scholarship influence your choice?

It definitely influenced my decision, as I felt encouraged and motivated to attend Northern due to the tremendous generosity of the donors. If I had the opportunity, I would definitely thank them and tell them how grateful I am to have been chosen to receive this scholarship. It helped me financially with my school expenses and will allow me to graduate with very little debt.

Q: Did you ever consider studying outside of the north? Why or why not?

After high school, I applied to numerous colleges including some down south. My intentions were always to attend Northern College however, because it was so close to home and I heard great things about the quality of the education the college offers.
