A small scale mock disaster involving a two-vehicle collision will be taking place at Northern College, Timmins Campus at 8:30am to 12:30pm on Friday, February 21 (dry run involving faculty only) and Friday, February 28 (including students in four program areas). This is a collaborative learning exercise that will include students from the following four program areas: Police Foundations, Pre-Service Firefighter, Paramedic, and Bachelor of Science of Nursing.
The event will involve a mock car accident with significant injury to passengers and occur in the back parking lot of the Integrated Emergency Services Complex (IESC) at the Timmins campus. It will also involve damaged vehicles remaining on campus in that area for the week between events. The presence of additional emergency vehicles, personnel and activity will also be taking place on the campus during these times.
Please be aware that this is not a real situation but may be disturbing for some viewers. If you do experience discomfort around this experience, please see Student Advising in the C-wing at Northern College Timmins or call Student Advising at 705-235-3211 Ext. 2113. A Student Advisor will also be on site during the times of the Mock Disaster at the IESC building to provide support as required.
To maintain the integrity of the scene, if you are not involved in the four programs of the College mentioned here, you are asked to not access or approach the rear parking lot of the IESC at the Timmins campus.
