Timmins, ON: Hundreds of high school students and members of the public from across Northeastern Ontario will visit Northern College’s Timmins Campus on Thursday, October 13, 2016, to attend the college’s annual Fall Open House.
Northern’s Fall Open House will be held in conjunction with the College Information Program (CIP) tour. The event provides an environment where prospective college students can meet with faculty, learn about programs and services, and experience a taste of college life. In addition to Northern College information booths and campus tours, representatives from approximately 20 Ontario colleges will be on-site in the campus gymnasium from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
All members of the public with an interest in learning more about the programs and services available at Northern and colleges across Ontario are invited to attend.
“Our annual Fall Open House is an excellent event for current senior secondary school students as well as adult learners who are considering a post-secondary education,” said Fred Gibbons, President and CEO of Northern College. “The information that we provide, as well as that provided by our peer colleges in attendance, will be invaluable to attendees as they make informed choices for their future. While this is one of our larger annual Open House events, we are always available to members of the public who wish to explore college programs and vocational choices at any of our four campus locations.”
As part of the Fall Open House, Northern College will be awarding four bursaries valued at $500 each to prospective students in attendance. Additional prizes will be available to high school students.
The College Information Program is an annual province-wide tour providing prospective post-secondary students with direct access to representatives from Ontario’s colleges.
