TIMMINS, ON: Get ready for a groovy time at Northern College’s 50th birthday celebration! Set for Saturday, May 27 in the gymnasium at the Timmins Campus, the Gold & Groovy Dance Party will be a throwback to the 1960’s as the college celebrates its golden anniversary.
Revel in the decade that brought Beatlemania and flower children with live music by Reggie & The Hubcaps and Audio Xpressions DJ Service alternating sets all night long. There will be party music starting from 60’s dance tunes, all the way up to today’s current hits.
Northern will be toasting 50 years of providing education and training in the community. Students, alumni, retirees, community partners and members of the public are invited to reminisce about the last five decades and enjoy some fab entertainment!
“We encourage everyone to attend and wear throwback sixties style outfits,” said Christine Bender, Timmins Campus Manager. “We are so excited to celebrate our 50th anniversary with this ‘far-out’ party that will celebrate the past fifty years—and look forward to the next fifty!”
The evening will feature prizes, food, cash bar, and shuttle service. There will also be lots of 1960’s era fun, including dance tutorials, hula-hoop competition, photo booth, lava lamps and much more. Drop by at any time throughout the evening, or come at 6 p.m. and stay until 1 a.m.
