    This two-semester certificate program will help students to:

    • prepare for a college trade or technology program
    • increase their skills and confidence in math, science, computers, and technical studies
    • explore career options in trades and technology

    This program is designed to assist students who either lack the standard college prerequisites or who need to improve mathematical, technical, science or computer skills before entering a technical or trades program. This program includes a range of courses designed to help students explore career options in trades and technology, and to provide students with the skills necessary to enter a one year trades program or a two-year or three-year technician/technology program.

    Employment Opportunities

    Students may find employment in occupations requiring general education or with firms which provide their own training, but the majority are likely to continue their studies.

    Admission Requirements

    • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
    • *Mature Students
      CAAT-C ENG (Grade 10 equivalency)
      CAAT Math (Grade 10 equivalency)

    Or equivalent.

    *Or mature student status (an applicant who does not have a high school diploma or equivalent, and will have reached the age of 19 years on or before the start of the program). Mature students must undergo academic testing prior to admission into a program. Call the Admissions Office at 705-235-7222 for more details.
