About
Second Career Strategy:
Second Career was launched in June 2008 to help laid-off Ontarians identify and train for new careers in growing sectors. The new enhancements noted below allow more laid-off workers to participate and take advantage of the training opportunities available, and build new skills for the careers of the future.
Second Career can help an applicant with the costs of tuition, books,
living expenses and other costs associated with the training to build
skills for a new career.
Other Employment Ontario programs like Ontario Skills Development also
provide support for training.
New Eligibility Enhancements:
The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities has made enhancements
to Second Career to enable more Ontarians to take advantage of the program.
