Basic Foot Care


The College is now closed to the public and all College events are cancelled. Northern has suspended face-to-face instruction and is transitioning to remote learning. All other services for students will be by appointment only. More details can be found on our website and blackboard.


Learn basic foot care knowledge and skills necessary to function within your health care community setting and skills that coincide with providing routine care in activities of daily living. The course includes providing care within the institution’s scope of practice, the ability to recognize common risk factors and foot problems that require referral to an appropriate health care provider. To receive a certificate, students must achieve a minimum of 80% on the test and attend all instructional hours.

Prerequisites: Participants must be Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses or Personal Support Workers (PSW). Proof of current association status is required upon registration. Tuition may be eligible for funding through the Nursing Education Initiative (NEI).
