Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core

Northern Training Division has partnered with Kidd Operations to offer the new Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core program through the Northern School of Hard Rock Mining. Participants enrolled will complete a modular training program designed to ensure that all of the core competencies identified in the MTCU Modular Training Standards for Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core are completed.

Next Intake: August 21, 2017

All training will be held in-house at Kidd mine at the 2400L training center. This allows participants to not only take up to thirteen modules towards their common core training, but also give them hands-on experience in a live production mine during their 12-week program.

Training includes: staging, rock bolting, scaling, lock and tagging, blasting, mucking, drilling, and more. All this will be delivered through blended learning, with a combination of instructor-based, video, in-field training and self learning with an assessment component (written and practical).
