Ancillary fees also support other aspects of yours and other students’ Northern experience, such as Student Associations, Athletic Facilities, and Mental Health Supports. All of these things help you to succeed!

International Drug Plan Fee is charged at initial term of enrollment and annually in September thereafter.

Program Specific Fees

Nurse Achieve Fee $150 (Sem 1) and $145 (Sem 3) 1 & 3 Testing fee to support preparatory testing for provincial exams.
Co-op Fee / Semester $300 As per program Cost of academic COOP semester instead of tuition.
Fit Mask Testing Fee
(BScN (each year, in Semesters 1, 3, 5 and 7), PN (each year, in Semester 1 and 3), PSW (Semester 1) and Med Lab (Semester 1).  Also Paramedic Year 1 semester 1, and Fire (Semester 1 and 2).
$25 1 Fee to cover N95 Mask Fit Testing and Masks.
Wildlife Rehabilitation $500 2 Transportation costs for a multi-day field trip.
Mining Engineering Technician $100 2, 4 Transportation costs for a multi-day field trip.
Mineral Exploration $100 2 Transportation costs for a multi-day field trip.

Paramedic and Paramedic Bridging $360 3 Lab kits which contain helmets, emergency gowns and related accessories required for ride-outs and placements.  Materials retained by students.
Animal Grooming: Model Dogs $44 1 Model dog wigs.
Motive Power Technician – Heavy Equipment and Automotive programs: Ozone Depletion Prevention Certification $50 3 The Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) designation conveys skills in environmentally-correct equipment design, proper handling of refrigerants, and will prepare participants for complying with Federal and Provincial Regulations covering refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
Cybersecurity $300 All Students will have access to CompTIA’s world-class, and continually updated, curriculum materials addressing all areas of cybersecurity.
SSW and Addiction & Mental Health Year 2 $60 3 This fee subsizes participation in McMaster University’s Standardized Patient Program that provides second year students in SSW & AMHW programs with two (2) opportunities to participate in client mock interviews.
