TIMMINS, ON: Third-year Northern College students from Laurentian University’s Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing program will be holding their annual health fair over the next two weeks. The fair will see students host information booths focused on a wide-range of health related topics.

While typically held at Northern College Timmins Campus, this year’s fair will be held at Canadian Tire on Wednesday, November 20th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at Walmart on Wednesday, November 27th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

“Hosting this health promotion event is our way of contributing to the wellbeing of our community and acknowledging all of the support it has given to Northern College’s nursing programs over the years,” said Johanne Carbonneau, BScN Program Coordinator. “Health promotion and public education are large components of nursing. These events provide our students with hands-on community outreach experience, and provide the community with an opportunity to learn about some very important health issues.”

All the exhibits and information materials have been developed by the nursing students. Topics range from nutrition on a budget, drinking and driving, to sun safety, diabetes, and stress relief.
