Northern College Celebrates Successful Open House Events

Northern College News and Events

TIMMINS, ON: Northern College is pleased to announce another successful year of Open House Events.

Prospective students came from across the province to see what Northern College has to offer, with many of them registering for our Fall 2019 intake on the spot, while even more continue to file their registration after the fact.

Again this year, each of Northern College’s four campuses open their doors to prospective students, offering a glimpse of what gaining their post-secondary education in Northern Ontario could look like. Collectively over one hundred faculty and staff were on hand to give detailed, course specific tours and students were offered an intimate opportunity to ask those important questions that can often help determine the direction they take in choosing a post-secondary institution.

“Having the opportunity to come see our facilities and technology is great in assisting an applicant in wanting to become a Northern College student,” said Jaret Dicks, Manager of Marketing, Communications, Student Recruitment and Alumni. “More importantly on this day, they get to meet and connect with their faculty, speak with current students and alumni. By providing this Northern Experience it really allows them to connect with the college before attending their first class as a student.”

As Ontario’s smallest college, Northern is dedicated to this proven method and continues to invest time and effort into student centric learning and services.

“Prospective students had the opportunity to tour our facilities and see some very sophisticated technology that will be part of the programs they register for,” stated Dr. Fred Gibbons, President and CEO of Northern College. “However, what will give our future students a distinct advantage by studying at Northern College are our smaller class sizes that allow students receive individualized attention; and our pursuit of providing students with experiential learning opportunities, whether through participation in applied research projects or the opportunity to serve field placements within local businesses and industry. This is the Northern College experience.”

Northern College is pleased to continue offering the best education possible in our beautiful corner of Northeastern Ontario, encouraging those who may have missed these events to reach out and book a campus tour with one of our recruiters or staff.
