TIMMINS, ON: All 28 Practical Nursing program graduates from Northern College, Porcupine Campus, have passed the Canadian Registered Practical Nursing Examination (CPNRE) for a second year in a row.
Successfully completing the CPNRE is part of the process of becoming a Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario and allows Practical Nursing graduates to obtain provincial registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
“For our program to achieve a 100% success rate on the national exams for the second consecutive year speaks to the hard work and determination of our students. It exemplifies the quality of the learning and teaching experiences of our program, as well as the commitment of our faculty who facilitate the learning process,” says Judy Rantala, Director, School of Health Sciences, Community and Emergency Services, Northern College.
This national examination measures the competencies required of nurses at the beginning of their practice.
