Course Information

Standard First Aid with CPR – Includes the BLS Component (formerly HCP)

This two day in-class course provides Standard First Aid and CPR/AED, with the optional BLS Component for Healthcare Providers. This course covers the recognition and treatment of airway, breathing and cardiovascular emergencies. Training includes Basic Support for Healthcare Provider (included but optional) and AED skills, management of choking, breathing and heart-related emergencies such as heart attack, stroke and cardiac arrest. Other first aid skills include management of severe bleeding, shock and fainting.  Below is a detail list of the course content.

Recertification with CRP/AED: To qualify for recertification, you must make sure you are using the same provider who issued your current certification. Candidates can take a 1 day re-certification course on the third year of original certification prior to certification expiry. This session is not for re-teaching first aid or CPR rather just to review the first aid and CPR/AED skills and go over any new techniques that have changed over the past three years in CPR or first aid.
