Occupational Health & Safety Programs at UFred

Northern Training Division
Credential Earned: Training Certificate
Campus: Distance

The School of Occupational Health and Safety programs at the University of Fredericton consist of high quality courses in specialized managerial, professional, technical, and service areas that are created for working professionals.

Many Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) workers are reaching a point in their careers where they find it difficult to communicate effectively with executive leadership.

To bridge the gap between field experience and the business of OHS within organizations, professional certification may be the solution. In a discipline as scrutinized as OHS, organizations are relying on qualified health and safety professionals to expertly advise on compliance with evolving provincial and federal regulations.

Additional Information

Delivery: All mandatory virtual classes can be attended in the evening from anywhere with internet access. Not only do most of our students continue working full time with their current organization: many are able to have their tuition covered by their current employer – an arrangement that often results in advancement during study as a result of new skills.

Certification: The most widely recognized professional certification in Canada is the CRSP, which is governed by the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP). To write the CRSP examination, OHS professionals must satisfy prerequisites, which include a minimum of 900 hours of education. University of Fredericton’s CRSP Pathway not only satisfies this requirement, but effectively empowers OHS professionals to be heard within their industry, earning them “a seat at the table” to merge their abilities with an organization’s business goals.

Funding: Funding may be available. Please contact training@northern.on.ca for more information and to determine if you qualify for funding for this program.
